I mentioned before that I've never had a Red-Headed Woodpecker at my feeders. Well, last week one morning my husband said there was a Red-Headed at the feeder earlier. I was pretty skeptical but he had taken a few pictures to prove it. I was a little upset that I had missed it but I set my camera up just in case he came back, and sure enough he did.
It's always exciting to see a new bird at the feeder, especially a rare one like this.
Fantastic pictures. Have to admit the red head is a lovely bird. The Bluebirds are so pretty little guys and those are some cute pictures.

DeleteSo skittish that I've not been able to get a snapshot yet. He rarely comes around, but I see him very year some time or other, but never stays.
ReplyDeleteCarolyn, I'm very surprised he's stayed around. We see him every day. It must be the suet I put out. The birds love it!! If only I could keep the Bluejays away:(
DeleteHi Pearl, Great pictures... We have about 3 or more Red-heads here --and they all come to the feeders.. Gorgeous birds.
ReplyDeleteLove seeing the baby Blues. Hope mine all make it. They should fledge sometime next week I think... I'll try to get pictures --but may not get too many because we are getting a new deck out there now --so there's alot of commotion going on!
