A Few New Perennials

I'm finally back after my second computer crash in two months. It's getting VERY frustrating going without a computer even if it's just a few days.
At this time of the year there are a lot of garage sales around here, and in recent years people have started selling perennials at their sales. I have added many perennials to my garden this way without spending big bucks.
That way I can splurge on the plants I really like, HOSTAS!! Sometime in the next week or two, I want to make a trip to Wade and Gatton Nurseries, a Garden Center that features over 2,000 Hostas. Try picking several Hostas out of a selection like that....Not easy!

All of these plants I found in the last week were only one or two dollars each.

My best find was a pink peony for one dollar!! Who doesn't love peonies?

I was also thrilled to find a pink Asiatic Lily for a buck. Sometimes I end up getting a different color than what is on the label, or something I just don't care for, but I figure since I didn't put much money in it, I can get rid of it if I don't like it. I like these lily's regardless of the color.

Dwarf Purple Iris

Lemon Balm....Smells so good!

Creeping Phlox
I have this in the lavender color, but I wanted a pink one too. Those colors look so pretty side by side. Now I need the white one too!

Coreopsis Zagreb

Coral Bells

Snowdrop Anemone

These are so lovely in a woodland garden with their nodding white flowers on very long stems.

Oregano

Tricyrtis
Also known as "Toad Lily"

Pink Sedum

  3. Great buys, Pearl.... I want a peony --but haven't found any on sale yet... I'll have to keep looking.

Your Pink Sedum looks like my Autumn Joy Sedum... I love those things ---and they take so little care.

Our Phlox has long gone for this year.

    Love the Coral Bells.... Gorgeous.

    Have a great weekend/week.
    Hugs,

  4. Shut the front door! What great plants for unbelievable prices. I think this is an awesome way to thin out the garden. May do this at my next yard sale...after all it is for VBS for church.
